This simulation shows what can happen when an arc flash event occurs without the right PPE. The arc blast lasts only a fraction of a second, but ignition of the non-AR/FR uniform is immediate. The non-AR/FR clothing does not self-extinguish. Instead, it ignites and melts onto the mannequin.

PPE is the last line of defense. Specifying the correct fabric and garments can save lives.
